Creating mosaics is a worthwhile hobby, allowing you to express your creativity in a practical yet decorative way. You will need to sketch your design on the clean surface, and work out what colors and types of tesserae (the tiles or glass) you would like to use. Most hardware stores and tile suppliers will have offcuts and broken tiles or glass that you can use. Making sure that the adhesive is suitable for outdoor use is a must. Adding a nice finishing touch to a mosaic is a colored grout.
You can arrange the tesserae on the design once you have your materials in order to check if you have the right sizes. If it’s necessary to cut the tiles, use a tile nipper and don’t forget to wear safety glasses and gloves when you do so. Section by section, you can attach the tiles to the surface one at a time using the adhesive. For a day or two, you will have to leave the adhesive to dry before you can apply the grout. Leave the mosaic to cure for a couple of days and remove the excess grout with a damp cloth or sponge.
Mosaic in a garden adds color, interest and a personal touch to items that can often be impersonal and quite boring. Plant pots can be turned into works of art, and a dull expanse of empty wall can be transformed into a feature with a mosaic. Rather than buy ready-made mosaic items in stores, it is more affordable to make your own mosaics. With garden mosaics, you can bring out your artistic side and transform your garden into a delightful space.

Very Hollywood is the latest fragrance from American designer, Michael Kors. Inspired by the glamour of Hollywood, this floral-themed perfume boasts a sparkling and pretty ‘n pink scent that’s undeniably feminine. The concept of the fragrance is aimed at young women who love the glitzy and red carpet attention of Hollywood.
To be Very Hollywood means to be very different. Different enough that you don’t lose yourself in the cacophony of drama that encapsulates the banalities of Hollywood. You have to stand out and create a unique persona that wouldn’t be mistaken as a flanker or would smell something like in the neighborhood of this and that perfume. The expectations are high for this fragrance.
This fragrance is surprisingly, light and airy. With the name and the campaign, I expect something heavy but pleasant in an elegant kind of way. Very Hollywood’s campaign conveys “Energy and excitement stir the scene. An intoxicating frenzy…”, but there’s nothing much to celebrate about this fragrance, unfortunately. In fact, it comes off as rather a neutered version of Michael Kors’ earlier releases. Suffice to say, Very Hollywood may as well be an updated edition of MK’s Michael and Very Michael Kors because the same flower accords brighten up the overall appeal of the fragrance.
Very Hollywood is designed by perfumers Laurent de Guernec and Pascal Gaurin. The notes are mandarin orange, bergamot, raspberry, jasmine, ylang-ylang, gardenia, orris root, amber, oakmoss and vetiver. The opening is an assortment of fruits sitting on a bed of gardenia flowers. The dry down is pale-ish; the ambery notes are dormant. This perfume is a clean floral scent in the long run. It’s neither provocative nor sexy no matter how hard MK and the team try to project that image in the campaign. It’s a beautiful scent for daytime wear. If you want more of the white flower punch in heavy doses, Michael is a better option.

Asparagus grows “wild” to thin to harvest any tips?
I planted asparagus four years ago. The asparagus comes up very thin 1/8 of an inch, and goes to seed. Any tips on making it grow thicker? I would love to be able to actually eat some instead of looking at it going to seed.

Two possibilities come to mind.
1. The area was not properly prepared therefore the asparagus isn’t getting enough fertilizer or isn’t being fertilized enough.
2. Planted too shallow.
If situation one is the culprit try adding a good dose of rabbit manure in the fall and spring followed by a complete fertilizer around mid-summer.
If situation two seems more likely wait until fall, dig the crowns and plant at a deeper depth; around 6 inches to the top of the crown, not the bottom of the roots. This requires a hole/trench at least 8 inches deep. While you have them out of the way you may as well go ahead and dig in some rabbit manure, leaves, grass clippings, hay or any other organic matter you may have around; it can’t hurt anything and could possible lead to more and heavier yields in future years.
In either scenario above remember to water well after applications.

sugar flower templates?
hi i was wondering if anyone knows where i can go to to get printable sugar craft flower templates in particular calla lily template ive looked every where and i cant seem to find one….. i have some sugar paste cutters but to buy the whole collection is allot of money does anyone know where i can fine these templates for flowers so i can put them onto card and use them that way????
